Dev Blog 6: The Perils of Slowing Down.

So the process has slowed down in almost the exact way I worried. The Game barely evolves and the fact I was so gung-ho and now am having to slot it in with practical stuff like not burning out makes me feel weak.

Dear reader, Jordan has had his fill of not being enough. I know you feel the same way but there is no way either of us can help each other, that fight is internal. When I forwent the young years I could have survived starving for my art for a JOB, I got a lot of getting close enough but never being good enough. In work, passion or love (sometimes).

I'm lucky that NOW I have a family I love dearly and that my work allowed me to make being the stay at home Dad a job for now as well. Not so lucky that those are the exact people you don't hang your personal hopes, dreams and hang-ups about bringing your Magnum Opus to.

So, I have slowed down to be a Dad (valid), a Husband (Valid) and a Gamer of high Calibur (invalid). It scares me but weirdly also feels like the farthest I've gone.

So, we have a glass half full, glass half empty post. I feel like I was right about slowing down but not as right about how final it would be. Even if all I have is some nodes, temp sprites and a very simple understanding of GDscript, I STILL feel like it isn't enough. Even though I didn't have this a week ago. Is that me pushing myself or not enjoying the journey or both? Eh, I dunno. What do you want, not all the posts can be gold! Enjoy the screenshots.

I'm Dwelling in Dystopia and I'm Glad but It's a full time job staying sane and I don't wanna go mad, where the city never sleeps and the day is always dawning and every free space is under an advertising billboard.
